Our Founder, Fr. Anibal Reyes (1947-1985), was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He was ordained a priest on August 11, 1974, in the congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Claretians).
Responding to a call from God which he could no longer resist, and with the permission of the pertinent ecclesiastical authorities, he founded the Servants of the Holy Eucharist and of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15, 1981, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in the Campo Alegre neighborhood of Hatillo, Puerto Rico.
Together with the community he founded, the great legacy of Fr. Anibal is the construction of the Schoenstatt Shrine “Magnificat” near the parish.
Fr. Anibal died of renal failure on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, October 7, 1985, at age 37. His mortal remains lay behind the Shrine as a testimony to his faithfulness to his Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother.
